PORSCHE CLUB NORFOLK & SUFFOLK REGION VISIT
Gantspeed was pleased to welcome members of the Norfolk and Suffolk Region of the Porsche Club on Sunday 9th October. The visit took place as part of a weekend away in Lincolnshire for a group of Club members, and we were able to show them around our premises and talk them through the various projects underway at the present time.
GANTSPEED LINCOLNSHIRE WOLDS TOUR 2011
This year's Gantspeed Lincolnshire Wolds Tour took place on Sunday 18th September.

Following the success of last years event, Gantspeed once again sponsored the Tour.
Organised by the Lincolnshire Region of the Porsche Club Great
Britain, the route took participants along superb open
roads and through stunning unspoilt views through the County. The event was not timed, but participants were able to follow the route using a
properly produced Road Book. The event finished at the famous Petwood Hotel, and a good day out was had by all.
RALLY BARBADOS 2011
Another Motorsport success for Gantspeed!
Leading British driver Steve Perez took his "Kick Energy" Porsche 911 RSR to victory in the Historic section of this years Rally Barbados. With Engine and Transmission built by Gantspeed, the car powered to an impressive win on the event.
We are well known for our competition engines and transmissions, and can produce serious winning equipment for all motorsport disciplines.
GANTSPEED OPEN DAY
Late May saw us hosting a Gantspeed Open Day for the Lincolnshire
Region of Porsche Club Great Britain. A substantial number of Club
members turned up on the morning of Sunday 22nd, and were able to have a
good look around our premises, talk to staff, and find out about the
current crop of Projects. We all then drove to the famous Petwood Hotel
(of Dambusters Squadron fame) for lunch and a chat.
LINCOLNSHIRE SHOW 2011
The Lincolnshire Show is one of the biggest agricultural shows in the country, with a wide variety of exhibitors from far and wide. This was our first time as an exhibitor at the event, and we showed Porsche 911s, 356s and a V12 E Type that we have restored and developed, together with a restored 911 "Project" bodyshell.
The Stand attracted a huge amount of interest and served to showcase our skills and services to a very broad public.
We will be exhibiting again at the 2012 Lincolnshire Show, and would be pleased to welcome you to our stand.
356A CABRIOLET RESTORATION
Like many cars of that era, the 1950s Porsche 356 in its various forms suffered from bodyshell corrosion. Half a century of use (and sometimes abuse) also often leaves its mark with poorly executed previous repairs and accident damage. As one of the leading restoration companies, we are well used to dealing with such issues, and have the expertise and skills to cope with this.
At the end of last year we took on the restoration of a 1959 356A cabriolet, a project that has certainly tested these skills. The car proved to be in such a poor state that we have had to virtually reconstruct the whole bodyshell. After many months of painstaking reconstruction work in our workshops, the bodyshell has now had leadwork, final preparation and the painting process completed. Partial reassembly for the customer is now under way in our workshops. Another old "classic" saved, with hopefuly a long life ahead of it.
GANTSPEED IN HISTORIC SPECIAL STAGE RALLYING
Rikki Proffitt 911
Gantspeed has extensive experience in the preparation of Porsche cars for rallying, and we are extremely pleased to be associated with Rikki Proffitt's assault on the 2012 British Historic Rally Championship.
In 2011, Rikki, his 2 Litre Porsche 911 running in the pre-1968 Category 1 of the championship, drove brilliantly, winning Category 1 and coming home second overall in the Championship.
This year, Rikki will be running a Gantspeed engine in his 911 and we wish him well in the Championship.

It is perhaps not so well known that Gantspeed has many years of experience in rally preparation of marques other than our beloved Porsches.
In recent times we have become deeply involved with the development of a 1967 Volvo Amazon forest rallycar, campaigned by Dave Reynolds in the British Historic Rally Championship.
This car, a version of the famous “Amazon”, also runs in Category 1 of the Championship, for pre-1968 cars. With the benefit of Gantspeed development, but still with original 1800cc engine capacity, the car has been very
successful, generally finishing in the top four places in Category 1. The car has an enviable finishing record, having completed all of the nine Historic Championship events entered to date.
